Rogier de Pijper is a flute player, music teacher, choral conductor, composer and arranger. Rogier often occurs as a soloist and accompanist. He regularly gives chamber music concerts throughout the country. He has played in the Dutch Flute Orchestra, various Conservatory orchestras and wind bands.
With his way of teaching, he always knows to get the best out of students and choir members.
He is often invited as a guest teacher to give workshops to flutists on various subjects.
In 2009 he wrote along with Matthijs van Setten his first schoolmusical "The adventures of @lice in Cyberland". This dutch musical is published by Grosveld.
Like many children, Rogier began to play the recorder at a young age. He was talented and soon he got pianolessons as well. At the age of 16 he was accepted at the Rotterdam Conservatory. Here he received his first flute lessons. In 2004 he graduated for the bachelor Music Education. Already in 2002, besides his studies in Rotterdam, he started studying the flute at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. Here he studied with Thies Roorda and Rien de Reede, two people who have put a significant mark on his musical development. After graduating for the Bachelor degree in 2006 he took private flute lessons with Wil Offermans, where he studied contemporary techiques for the flute. After three years of full-time teaching at the Markland College of Oudenbosch (high school), he decided in 2009 to resume his flute studies. In the next two years he studied the flute with Leon Berendse at the conservatory of Tilburg. In June 2011 he graduaded for his masters degree. From September 2011 Rogier is appointed as teacher of the Conservatory of Tilburg.
